Gantz Signals Potential Reconciliation with Former Partner Hili Tropper Ahead of Elections

Blue and White party chairman Benny Gantz hinted at renewed talks with Hili Tropper, leader of the New Zionist Party, who recently left to join Yoaz Hendel's Reservists Party. During a Wednesday evening event in Netanya, Gantz was asked if there was still a chance to unite their lists. He responded that discussions are ongoing but declined to reveal details, emphasizing that "past grievances will not be a factor in strengthening the moderate and balanced political force in Israel."

Both Blue and White and the New Zionist Party have struggled to pass the electoral threshold in recent polls, while the combined New Zionist-Reservists list is approaching it. A merger with Gantz's party could secure their representation. Concurrently, Gantz is also negotiating with the Unity Party led by Gilad Erdan and Yuli Edelstein, and has invited Ayelet Shaked to join efforts to surpass the threshold.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Unity Party announced a positive meeting between Erdan and Gantz, with plans for further talks soon. These moves reflect ongoing attempts to consolidate moderate and right-leaning parties ahead of the upcoming elections to maximize their parliamentary presence.
