Client Kills Lawyer Over Dispute in Insurance Claim Progress in Central Israel

The Central District Prosecutor's Office has charged Ahmad Alragoub, 24, from Ramla, with the intentional murder of lawyer Arbel Feldman under aggravating circumstances. The indictment alleges that Alragoub was dissatisfied with the pace of a civil insurance claim, worth about 18,000 shekels, that Feldman was handling on his behalf. Motivated by this financial dispute, Alragoub armed himself with a loaded semi-automatic pistol and went to Feldman's office in central Rishon Lezion on August 4. There, he shot Feldman six times at close range, striking his upper body, head, and hand, resulting in Feldman's immediate death.

After the shooting, Alragoub fled the scene by car, attempting to destroy evidence by discarding his mobile phone and the firearm. Approximately two hours later, he surrendered at a police station in Ashdod and admitted to the killing, citing financial motives. The prosecution has also charged him with illegal possession of a weapon and ammunition, evidence destruction, and obstruction of justice. Prosecutors requested that Alragoub be held in custody throughout the legal proceedings, emphasizing his cruelty and disregard for the law. They highlighted the severity of attacking a lawyer performing his duties, calling it a serious breach that harms the victim, his family, and public interest in protecting legal professionals.
