Israeli Lawyer Charged With Contacting Foreign Agent, Obstructing Justice

The State Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment against an Israeli lawyer, charging her with contacting a foreign agent and obstructing legal proceedings. The indictment was filed with the Central District Court, which also received a request to detain the lawyer until the conclusion of legal proceedings against her. The court approved the security agencies' request to release a paraphrased version of the case details.

According to the prosecution's statement, investigation findings indicate that the lawyer allegedly communicated with a foreign agent in violation of the law and also obstructed investigation procedures. The suspect was arrested for investigation approximately two and a half weeks ago by the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) and the Israel Police on suspicion of committing security offenses. Following the completion of the investigation, the Central District Prosecutor's Office decided to file the indictment.
