Israeli Lawyer Indicted for Contact with Foreign Agent, Obstruction

The State Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment against an Israeli lawyer who was arrested approximately two and a half weeks ago on suspicion of security offenses. The investigation, a joint effort by the Shin Bet and Israel Police, revealed that the lawyer allegedly maintained contact with a foreign agent in violation of the law and also obstructed investigative proceedings. The prosecution is seeking to detain her until the legal proceedings are concluded.

Details of the case are heavily restricted, but the Central District Prosecutor's Office (Criminal) filed the indictment at the Central District Court in Lod. The charges include engaging with a foreign agent and obstruction of justice. Investigators claim the lawyer's actions constituted a severe security breach.
