ועדת הבחירות המרכזית החליטה לפסול את חבר הכנסת עופר כסיף (חד"ש) מהתמודדות בבחירות לכנסת. ההחלטה התקבלה ברוב של 19 קולות מול 5 מתנגדים, והיא מבוססת על עילת שלילת קיומה של מדינת ישראל, כפי שמופיעה בחוק יסוד: הכנסת. הבקשה לפסילה הוגשה על ידי מפלגת הליכוד.

ההחלטה של ועדת הבחירות תועבר כעת לבג"ץ, שיצטרך לאשר אותה. פסילת חברי כנסת על רקע עילות פוליטיות-מדיניות היא סוגיה רגישה ומורכבת, ובג"ץ הוא הגוף הסופי שיכריע בעניין זה.
