Miki Peled, Pioneer of Israeli Entertainment Industry, Dies at 87

Miki Peled, a foundational figure in Israel's entertainment industry and the producer behind the first Festigal in 1981, passed away at the age of 87. Born in Romania on March 26, 1939, Peled immigrated to Israel with his family in 1948. He is credited with creating the Festigal, which quickly became a beloved annual cultural event for Israeli families and children. Throughout his career, Peled produced numerous shows and cultural events, significantly contributing to the growth of Israel's entertainment sector. In recognition of his lifelong impact on Israeli culture, he received a lifetime achievement award from ACUM, the Israeli composers' and authors' rights organization.

Peled was remembered by family, friends, and colleagues as a visionary who recognized talent, offered opportunities, and inspired belief in others. His son and business partner, Yaron Peled, described him as more than a producer, highlighting his ability to dream, identify talent, and empower people. Miki Peled is survived by his wife Tami, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a legacy of artists and professionals influenced by his work. His funeral is scheduled for tomorrow at 4 p.m. at the Kiryat Shaul Cemetery in Tel Aviv.
