Senior Tel Aviv Neighborhood Rabbi Ben Zion Nesher Passes Away at 76

Rabbi Ben Zion Nesher, one of the senior neighborhood rabbis in Tel Aviv and a prominent halachic authority, died suddenly at the age of 76. He served as the rabbi of the Trumpeldor neighborhood, headed the monetary law rabbinical court, and was the rabbi of the community center "Ichud Shivat Zion." Over decades, Rabbi Nesher was a leading figure in the city's rabbinical and Torah world, holding senior roles in the Chief Rabbinate's kashrut system and serving as the rabbi of the Shochtim and Bodekim Union.

In addition to his public roles, he authored the halachic responsa series "Shevi Zion," which earned him the Rabbi Tolida and Rabbi Kook awards for Torah literature. Throughout his career, he mentored many students and was a key halachic authority on issues of kashrut, rabbinical court matters, and monetary law. Rabbi Nesher leaves behind a large family, numerous students, and many who cherished his memory. Details of the funeral will be announced later.
