Jewish Woman Removed from Taxi in Poland After Driver Sees Star of David Necklace

During a routine taxi ride in Warsaw, Poland, Ljudmila Kolomanski experienced a distressing incident when the driver noticed her Star of David necklace. Initially polite, the driver suddenly became hostile, shouting accusations of murder and threatening to force her out of the vehicle. Kolomanski recounted the episode in an interview with "Morning News," describing how the driver, who said he was Caucasian and living in Turkey, became angry upon seeing her necklace, pulled out a Quran, and shouted "Allahu Akbar."

Despite initial fear, Kolomanski chose to film the encounter, explaining that visibility and standing firm as a Jew are important to her. The taxi ride ended at her hotel, and after sharing the video on Facebook, she was contacted by the Jewish community in Warsaw, who are working to ensure the incident is addressed. She also reported the event to the taxi company, which promised the driver would no longer work with them.

Kolomanski noted that while she had faced similar antisemitic incidents in her childhood, this was unusual in Poland, where such cases are generally not tolerated. She emphasized the need to confront fear and openly assert Jewish identity.
