Man Arrested for Stabbing Death of Seven-Year-Old in Beit Shemesh
Liel Ifergan, a 26-year-old man from Beit Shemesh, was arrested on suspicion of fatally stabbing seven-year-old Hillel Mordechai Dadon and seriously injuring his four-year-old cousin. The attack occurred while the children were playing in a pool. Ifergan, who lives near the scene, was detained shortly after the incident. According to police, he arrived near the apartment hours before the stabbing, briefly spoke with the landlord, left, then returned and attacked the children with a sharp object. His detention has been extended until the following Tuesday as the investigation continues.
Deputy Head of the Jerusalem District Investigation Unit, Chief Inspector Guy Avrahami, described the scene as very difficult, emphasizing the focus on uncovering the suspect's motive and the circumstances leading to the attack. Police are actively gathering evidence to piece together the full picture and ensure the suspect faces the full extent of the law.
