Maccabi Bnei Reineh Goalkeeper Lior Glicklich Set to Sign with Austria's Wolfsberger AC
Lior Glicklich, the 23-year-old goalkeeper for Maccabi Bnei Reineh, is preparing to finalize a move to Austrian club Wolfsberger AC. Holding an Austrian passport, Glicklich will serve as the team's second-choice goalkeeper, marking his first departure from Israel. He is scheduled to fly to Austria on Friday to complete the signing.
To fill the vacancy at Maccabi Bnei Reineh, which competes in Israel's second-tier Liga Leumit, goalkeeper Roy Sasson is expected to join as the new first-choice keeper. Sasson recently agreed to terms with the club after being loaned from Beitar Jerusalem to Hapoel Petah Tikva earlier this summer. He received support from Omri Peretz for this new opportunity. Consequently, Amit Mashiah will become the backup goalkeeper for coach Omer Katz's squad.
Glicklich developed through Hapoel Tel Aviv's youth system and had loan spells at Hapoel Rishon LeZion and Hapoel Petah Tikva before signing with Maccabi Bnei Reineh last summer. Despite the team's relegation to Liga Leumit last season, Glicklich is now seeking a fresh start abroad with Wolfsberger AC.
