Wolfsberger Targets Maccabi Bnei Reineh Goalkeeper Lior Gliklich for Backup Role
Austrian club Wolfsberger is close to signing 23-year-old goalkeeper Lior Gliklich from Israeli team Maccabi Bnei Reineh. Gliklich, who holds an Austrian passport, is expected to join as the backup goalkeeper behind Lukas Guttelbauer. The vacancy arose after the previous second-choice keeper, Nikolas Polster, transferred to Dutch club NEC Nijmegen. Gliklich recently played in a 4-1 loss against Bnei Yehuda with his current team. Wolfsberger values Gliklich's Austrian citizenship as it exempts him from counting as a foreign player. Historically, Wolfsberger has had three Israeli players: Sean Weissman, who scored 37 goals in one season, Eliel Peretz, and Tai Baribo, who later moved to Major League Soccer.
