Israeli Couple and Infant Rescued After Illegal Entry into Jericho for Shopping

An Israeli couple in their 30s and 40s, residents of Jerusalem, along with their one-year-old infant, were rescued after entering Jericho in Area A of the West Bank, reportedly to shop. The couple's entry into the Palestinian-controlled area is illegal under Israeli law and poses significant safety risks. Security forces located and extracted the family, who were then detained and questioned at the Beqaa police station. Authorities reiterated warnings against entering Palestinian Authority-controlled territories due to the dangers involved. This incident follows similar cases, including one less than a year ago when a mother and her young daughter were found wandering in Bethlehem, also in Area A, in what was determined to be a deliberate illegal entry rather than an accident.
