Health Ministry Warns Against Entering Nine Polluted Northern Israel Streams
The Israeli Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Environmental Protection have issued a warning against entering the waters of nine streams in northern Israel due to unusually high contamination levels. Water samples taken on August 16-17 revealed elevated concentrations of fecal coliform bacteria exceeding Health Ministry safety guidelines. The affected streams include Banias, Hasbani, Jordan, Hexagon Pool, Gilabon, Zaki, Yehudiya, Tzalmon, and Kaziv. The Ministry of Environmental Protection has not identified a specific source of the pollution. The swimming ban will remain in effect until stable and safe water quality results are confirmed.
