IDF Confirms Killing of Islamic Jihad Commander Involved in Israeli Civilian Kidnapping
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on Tuesday that they killed Tarek Anwar Hamis Ra'i, a platoon commander in the Islamic Jihad's supply unit, during an operation near Khan Yunis two days earlier. According to the IDF spokesperson, Ra'i participated in the October 7 massacre at Kibbutz Be'eri, where he was involved in the abduction of an Israeli civilian. Recently, he had been orchestrating terror attacks against Israeli forces and civilians. The IDF stated that his elimination was necessary to neutralize the threat he posed. The Southern Command forces remain deployed in the area under the existing agreement and will continue to act to remove any immediate threats.
