IDF Reports Increased Hezbollah and Hamas Clashes Coordinated by Iran Near Israel Border
In recent weeks, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have observed a rise in confrontations between Hezbollah fighters and IDF troops around the Ali Taher ridge, as well as between IDF forces and Hamas operatives along the Yellow Line separating Israel and Gaza. The IDF assesses that Hamas and Hezbollah are coordinating their activities with Iranian support to reestablish a hostile front aimed at increasing pressure on Israel.
A military source detailed ongoing psychological and tactical battles near Ali Taher ridge, where Hezbollah attempts to detect IDF positions and launch attacks in "gray zones," such as a recent early morning assault using an optical fiber drone that wounded three soldiers from the Yahalom unit operating under the Commando Brigade. Hezbollah is also reportedly trying to supply its besieged underground forces, while the IDF is actively seeking to locate and destroy Hezbollah’s subterranean infrastructure and militants in the area. A senior military official stated that any militants emerging from underground will be interrogated in Israel, while those remaining will either be killed or captured.
The Northern Command is conducting complex intelligence operations to identify hidden supply routes and drone activities supporting Hezbollah fighters. According to a senior source, the IDF is blocking access to these areas, asserting that Hezbollah cannot hold out indefinitely. The militants occasionally surface to search for food, which exposes them to IDF detection. In response to these provocations, the IDF has launched targeted strikes in Ramat Navta and other locations under its operational control, while Lebanese leadership and senior Hezbollah figures in Beirut remain protected due to U.S. demands.
Separately, an IDF tank hit a recently planted explosive device in southern Gaza, marking an escalation along the Yellow Line. However, the political leadership has refrained from approving broad attacks within Gaza City due to sensitivity toward the White House’s calls to immediately halt strikes and targeted killings, except in cases of imminent threat. Consequently, the IDF has conducted limited, precise operations against select targets.
