Tali Gottlieb Leads Likud Primary Poll Ahead of Monday Vote

Ahead of the Likud party primaries scheduled for Monday, a News 12 poll surveyed Likud voters to gauge support for the candidates. The poll included a broader group than just those eligible to vote in the primaries. Tali Gottlieb emerged as the frontrunner, with 39.3% of respondents naming her as one of the top three candidates who must be on the party list. She is followed by Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana at 25.1%, and Defense Minister Israel Katz at 18.1%.

Other notable candidates include Economy Minister Nir Barkat with 17.8%, Miri Regev at 15%, Amichai Shikli at 13%, Moshe Saada at 11.9%, and Yariv Levin at 11.5%. Further down the list are Avi Dichter (11%), Miki Zohar (10.5%), Eli Cohen (10.1%), Mai Golan (8.7%), and Boaz Bismuth (8.6%). At the bottom are David Amsalem (5.4%), Shlomo Karai (4.7%), Yoav Kish (4.2%), Ofir Katz (3.5%), David Bitan and Amit Halevi (3.3%), Haim Katz (3.2%), and Idit Silman (2.9%).

Gottlieb’s leading position reportedly causes concern for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who, according to recent reports, would prefer not to see her advance to the forefront of the party. Gottlieb has denied these reports, calling them inaccurate. The poll results highlight the competitive nature of the upcoming Likud primaries and the shifting dynamics within the party’s voter base.
