Rabid Dog Found in Tel Aviv Park Prompts Urgent Vaccinations for Exposed Individuals

The Israeli Ministry of Health has reported the discovery of a dog infected with rabies in the parking lot of Ganey Yehoshua park in Ramat Gan. Following this finding, 10 people who were exposed to the dog have been directed to receive preventive rabies vaccinations. The Ministry urges anyone who had contact with animals in the area between August 7 and 12 to urgently contact the Tel Aviv Health Office at 03-5684631 or their nearest health office. Outside of office hours, individuals should go to an emergency room. The Ministry also reminds the public that anyone bitten or scratched by an animal should immediately wash the affected area with soap and water, disinfect it, and seek medical attention at a health office.
