Northern Israel Smuggling Ring Accused of Transporting 50 Kg of Hashish to Jordan

The Northern District Prosecutor's Office has indicted three residents of Kfar Mazar, aged 26, 30, and 41, on charges of operating a smuggling ring that transferred approximately 50 kilograms of hashish into Jordan. The indictment follows a joint investigation by the Northern District Central Unit and the Shin Bet security service. The suspects face charges including harming state sovereignty, exporting dangerous drugs, and drug possession.

According to the investigation, the trio coordinated with drug suppliers to obtain around 50 kilograms of hashish, valued at millions of shekels, intended for transfer across the eastern border. On July 15, 2026, they drove a pickup truck to a designated drop-off point, collected 10 packages containing the drugs, and proceeded to the eastern border fence. The suspects allegedly threw the packages over the fence, where they were collected by individuals on the Jordanian side.

Each suspect was expected to receive about 100,000 shekels in exchange for exporting the drugs. The indictment was filed at the Nazareth-Nof HaGalil District Court and is represented by attorney Ohad Cohen from the Northern District Prosecutor's Office. The police stated that the Northern Border Unit's activities are part of ongoing efforts to prevent arms and drug smuggling.
