Tensions Rise as New Outpost Near Palestinian Village in West Bank Leads to House Sieges

Tensions have escalated near the Palestinian village of Kusra in the West Bank following the establishment of a new outpost branch of Tal Telpiyot close to Palestinian homes. Recent footage shows Israeli soldiers praying alongside settlers at the outpost, which has recently served as a base for expanding settlements in the area. One such new outpost was set up adjacent to Palestinian houses in Kusra, leading to confrontations with settlers.

Abd al-Azim Wadi, head of the Kusra council, reported that three Palestinian homes are currently under siege, with settlers cutting off electricity and blocking food supplies. Despite contacting Israeli police and the Palestinian Civil and Military Coordination Administration, no effective intervention has occurred. Wadi noted the outpost was established about six months ago in the residents' yards, in Area B of the West Bank, not Area C, and settlers recently erected tents and disconnected power, severely impacting the villagers' access to basic necessities.

A security source indicated that the Israeli military is preparing to evacuate the outpost soon. Meanwhile, the IDF spokesperson stated that the incident captured on video is under investigation and disciplinary action will follow based on findings. The situation remains uncertain regarding the fate of the three besieged houses and their families in Kusra.
