Israeli Settlers Besiege Palestinian Families in West Bank Village for Three Days

In the West Bank village of Kousra, two Palestinian families have been trapped without water or electricity for three days following actions by Israeli settlers. According to Palestinian residents and Israeli human rights activists, settlers established an outpost near the families' homes, blocked access roads with stone piles, and damaged water and electrical connections, including solar panel wiring. The families, including two young girls aged 4 and 10, remain confined indoors due to fears of violent attacks.

The settlers have maintained a continuous presence in a makeshift structure adjacent to the homes, effectively imposing a siege. Despite the situation, the Israeli military has not intervened to remove the outpost or restore services. A military unit that arrived was filmed praying with the settlers, prompting disciplinary measures against the soldiers involved. However, the army has so far refrained from forcibly evacuating the illegal outpost.

Human rights organizations have urgently appealed to Central Command Chief Major General Avi Blot to intervene and end the siege. Attempts by the besieged families to seek help from security forces have been unsuccessful. The outpost, named Tel Talpiot, was established in January 2026 in Area B of the West Bank, and the recent expansion has escalated tensions and humanitarian concerns. The Israeli military has not issued a response to the latest appeals for action.
