Former U.S. President Donald Trump issued a forceful statement demanding that Iran pay compensation for all the people it has killed and injured over the past 50 years. His declaration came in response to Iran’s recent demand for reparations related to damages sustained during the recent five-month military confrontation with the United States. Trump accused Iran of killing hundreds of thousands of innocent protesters over the last five decades, including those killed in attacks such as the bombing of the USS Cole and other conflicts led initially by General Qasem Soleimani. He claimed that 52,000 people were killed in the last five months alone and instructed his representatives to firmly raise this compensation demand in any future negotiations with Iran.

In a recent interview with Israel’s Channel 12, Trump indicated he is not rushing to make decisions regarding a new agreement with Iran or resuming military action. He emphasized that economic pressure on Iran, including a naval blockade and the country’s severe inflation and financial struggles, is effective. Trump also noted that falling oil prices help reduce fuel costs in the U.S. and described the situation as a strategic chess game.

Despite previously nearing a decision to launch a broad military operation against Iran, Trump has since refrained from new threats of force. He also expressed no frustration over Iran delaying the announcement of an agreement with Oman concerning the Strait of Hormuz and imposing new conditions for reopening it.
