A powerful 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck Colombia early morning, causing widespread damage and panic. The quake occurred at 7:34 a.m. local time with its epicenter located 115 kilometers deep near San Jose del Palmar. The tremors were strongly felt in the capital city, Bogota, and severely impacted the central city of Manizales, prompting many residents to evacuate their homes.

The earthquake's effects extended beyond Colombia, being felt in neighboring countries including Ecuador, where it was sensed in the capital Quito, as well as in Venezuela and Panama. Reports described scenes of chaos with people being thrown into the air and falling during the shaking.

In response, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar offered assistance to Colombia, stating, "We are closely monitoring the reports on the earthquake and Israel is prepared to assist Colombia as needed."
