Israeli President Herzog Congratulates Severely Wounded Soldier Yotam Asban on Wedding
Yotam Asban, a resident of Beit El and alumnus of the Merkaz HaRav and Beit Orot yeshivas, was severely injured in the head during fighting in Jabalia, Gaza Strip. After a lengthy rehabilitation process, he is set to marry his fiancée, Rinat, this evening. In honor of their wedding, Israeli President Isaac Herzog and his wife Michal sent the couple a special congratulatory video message.
In the video, President Herzog expressed his excitement for the couple's wedding day and wished them great happiness. He also acknowledged Yotam's mother, Michal Asban, founder and chairwoman of the "Mother Lioness" association, which supports hundreds of families of wounded IDF soldiers. Herzog humorously noted her determined nature, calling her a "mother lioness" who rallies support.
Michal Herzog added her wishes, recognizing the significant challenges Yotam has overcome since his injury and wishing the couple joy, happiness, and good health. President Herzog also mentioned Yotam's brother, Eliyahu, who serves as an IDF commander, and wished the newlyweds a faithful and happy home filled with good news moving forward.
