Israeli Leaders Celebrate Soldiers’ Recoveries and Religious Events Across West Bank and Israel

A series of significant events took place recently in northern Samaria and across Israel, highlighting both religious milestones and the resilience of wounded soldiers. In northern Samaria, the first Rosh Chodesh prayer service in 21 years was held near the "Bnei David" yeshiva in Ganim, marking a spiritual renewal in the area.

Rabbi Or Shwaka, head of the "Tzlash" yeshiva for army veterans in Ra'anana and a paratrooper platoon commander, celebrated the birth of his son. Rabbi Shwaka was severely wounded in Lebanon about six months ago when a shrapnel fragment nearly pierced his windpipe. After surgery and extensive rehabilitation for injuries to his legs, he continues to cope with the aftermath.

In another moving event, the wedding of Yotam Asban, a soldier who suffered critical injuries in Gaza and underwent lengthy rehabilitation, was celebrated with rabbis, Knesset members, and public figures including Settlement and National Missions Minister Orit Struck, Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion, former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, and MK Limor Son Har-Melech.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich attended a Sheva Brachot ceremony at the home of Matanya Snirav, explaining his father’s refusal to recite the traditional "Birkat HaAritah" blessing, as he believes its fulfillment is already underway with the current rebuilding of Israel. Smotrich also participated in a seminar with Bnei Akiva youth movement leaders and later addressed hundreds of Bnei Akiva trainees at Mount Herzl.

Other notable moments included Government Secretary Yossi Fuchs marking his 55th birthday with gratitude for his family and Prime Minister Netanyahu, Rabbi Nir Yaakov Mas blessing students before their army induction, and Likud Minister Miki Zohar praying at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron with his son.
