Dimona Cancels Ofek Adenek Concert Over Allegations of Violence Against Women

The municipality of Dimona has canceled a planned concert by Israeli singer Ofek Adenek, originally scheduled for late summer, following allegations of violence against his former partner. Dimona's mayor, Benny Biton, stated to ynet that despite potential financial loss, "violence against women is a red line for me." Biton emphasized the importance of women in his city and said the concert will not proceed unless Adenek is cleared of all charges, adding he would welcome him back if proven innocent.

Ofek Adenek, 24, revealed himself as the singer arrested over the weekend on suspicion of threatening his ex-partner and breaking her car window. In an Instagram post, Adenek described a painful breakup and denied ever being violent, asserting respect for women as a core value. He said the court reviewed the case and ordered his release, and he expressed gratitude for public support and commitment to continue his music career.

According to police, Adenek allegedly damaged his ex-partner's vehicle during a dispute but claimed he was attacked first. Video footage shows him telling her to leave his home, but no physical violence against her was reported during the incident. Adenek, known for hits like "How She Dances" and "Exceptional," was released to house arrest for five days after a hearing at the Rishon Lezion Magistrate's Court.
