Israeli Singer Ofek Adenek's Performances Canceled Amid Domestic Violence Allegations

Following allegations of domestic violence against his ex-partner, Israeli singer Ofek Adenek has had multiple performances canceled. After the city of Dimona canceled his scheduled show as part of their end-of-summer youth events, the municipality of Tirat Carmel also decided to cancel his upcoming concert planned for August 25. The Tirat Carmel municipality stated the cancellations were made out of caution and responsibility given the ongoing investigation, emphasizing respect for the presumption of innocence until the facts are clear.

Adenek, 24, a dancehall singer known for hits like "Yotzet Min HaKlal," was taken for questioning last weekend following a complaint and released to house arrest. A video surfaced showing a confrontation between Adenek and his ex-girlfriend Hadass Masouri, with mutual accusations of violence. The police investigation into both Adenek and Masouri, who is also suspected of violent offenses, is ongoing.

Adenek has denied the allegations, describing the incident as a heated argument during a painful breakup and asserting he has never been violent toward her or anyone else. Masouri expressed confidence in the police and prosecution to complete their investigation soon and refrained from engaging with what she called a "toxic narrative" being spread about her. The municipalities have invited youth to attend the revised events featuring other performers such as Avi Aburumi and Nadav Hantsis.
