Israeli Rapper Ofek Adenk Returns to Stage After House Arrest Amid Assault Investigation

Israeli rapper Ofek Adenk performed yesterday at the BE.MC hip-hop festival held at Jaffa Port, marking his first public appearance since being released from house arrest. Despite recent personal turmoil, Adenk was warmly received by fans and appeared energetic and happy to be back on stage. The festival featured other artists such as Caplio, Balishag, Vibe Ish, and Ubi, with Adenk’s performance moved from Beit HaMiklot to the Barby venue due to scheduling delays.

Adenk was arrested about a week ago on suspicion of assaulting his partner, Hadass Masouri. Initially, only Adenk was questioned, but following inquiries by Mako, Masouri was also interrogated under caution. The investigation has now concluded and the case has been forwarded to the police prosecution unit, which is expected to make a decision in the coming days.

Upon the public release of his name, Adenk addressed his fans directly, describing the past days as complex and confirming a breakup with Masouri. He denied any violence toward her or any woman, emphasizing respect for women as a core value. He stated that the court reviewed all details and ordered his release. Adenk expressed gratitude for the support he received and reaffirmed his commitment to music and upcoming performances.

This incident comes at a peak in Adenk’s career, with two national hits currently dominating the Israeli charts: "How She Dances" featuring Eden Hason and Agam Buhbut at number one for six weeks, and "Exceptional" with Liad Meir at number two. Adenk, 24, has been active in music since age 13 and first gained attention with a freestyle video that led to his breakout hit "Come Baby." He also auditioned for "The Next Star" in 2019, where his style sparked a notable exchange with judge Asaf Amdursky.
