Retired General Dedi Simchi Voices Concern Over Serving With Yair Golan in Government

Retired Brigadier General Dedi Simchi, who recently joined Benny Gantz's political faction, expressed serious concerns in a Monday interview on Galei Yisrael radio about the prospect of serving in a government alongside Yair Golan and his allied list. Simchi said the idea keeps him awake at night and emphasized that a broad coalition government might neutralize such influences. However, he firmly stated that even if Golan is part of the government, he would be unable to implement his agenda.

Simchi also declared unequivocally that he would not sit in a government that includes Arab parties or Meretz leader Zehava Gal-On, criticizing the latter's party for its connections to the Shura Council and its failure to fully recognize Israel as a Jewish state. He dismissed attempts to portray such alliances as acceptable, calling them irrelevant to his party's values.

Additionally, reports indicate that Simchi is considering leaving Gantz's party, with speculation about which faction he might join next. His comments highlight ongoing tensions within the Israeli political landscape regarding coalition composition and ideological boundaries.
