Jerusalem Man Kills Migrant Worker Six Days After Prison Release, Police Reveal Evidence

On July 23, police were called to an apartment in Jerusalem's Katamon neighborhood after a migrant worker was found dead with signs of violence. The investigation quickly identified the incident as a criminal act. Jerusalem District Commander Asaf Feld arrived at the scene and ordered an urgent investigation, assigning the case to the Jerusalem District Central Unit (YAMAR).

The suspect, a 31-year-old resident of Eilat, was arrested shortly after the crime. Police disclosed that he had been released from a lengthy prison sentence for a previous violent offense just six days before the murder. Investigators gathered substantial evidence against him through focused operational and investigative efforts.

Today, the Jerusalem District Prosecutor's Office submitted an indictment declaration against the suspect at the Magistrate's Court, with formal charges expected to follow in the coming days. YAMAR investigation team leader Sergeant Major Yitzhak Dahan described the case as a severe act of violence against a migrant worker who was caring for an elderly couple. He emphasized the swift and professional police work that led to the suspect's arrest and the solid evidentiary foundation for prosecution.
