Search Underway for 11-Year-Old Boy Missing After Boat Capsizes in Jordan River
Rescue teams, including firefighters and police, have been searching since Sunday afternoon for an 11-year-old boy who went missing in the Jordan River after a boat capsized. The incident occurred near Yesod HaMa'ala in the southern Hula Valley. Contact with the boy was lost immediately following the capsizing, prompting an ongoing search operation in the area.
This event follows a tragic drowning in late June when two teenagers, Hala Azam (13) and Iman Khir (14) from Abu Snan, drowned in the Jordan River during a family outing. A third girl who entered the water with them managed to escape and reported their disappearance. Both girls were found lifeless within five hours, about two hours apart.
Authorities continue to coordinate efforts to locate the missing boy amid concerns raised by the recent fatalities in the same river.
