Ra'am Confirms Primaries Before Reserved Seats, No Final Decision on Yoav Segalovich Joining

The possibility of Yoav Segalovich joining the Ra'am party remains under consideration but no final agreement has been reached. Ra'am officials have been gauging public opinion within the Arab sector and potential reactions to the move, which could alter the party's candidate list ahead of the upcoming Knesset elections. However, the party emphasized that any decision regarding Segalovich, who recently left Yesh Atid, will be made only through Ra'am's internal processes.

Ra'am chairman Mansour Abbas clarified that the party's primaries will take place first, on August 22, and only afterward will a separate forum decide on reserved seats within the list. Abbas also denied reports suggesting a name change for Ra'am, calling them fake news and confirming the party will retain its Hebrew name Ra'am and Arabic name The United List.

These developments come three days after Segalovich announced his resignation from the Knesset and departure from Yesh Atid. Segalovich served as a Knesset member for Yesh Atid since 2019 and wished success to his former party and the Together party. Yair Lapid thanked him for his contributions and wished him well in his future endeavors. With Segalovich now outside the Knesset and Yesh Atid, speculation about his political future continues, but Ra'am insists no final decisions or reserved seats have been granted yet, and the party's name will remain unchanged.
