Yoav Segalovich Quits Yesh Atid as Talks to Join Ra'am Advance Amid Polls

Knesset member Yoav Segalovich announced his resignation from the Knesset and departure from the Yesh Atid party on August 8, 2026. Following his announcement, senior officials in the Ra'am party confirmed ongoing negotiations with Segalovich about his potential joining, describing the talks as progressing but not yet finalized. Ra'am's leadership is set to receive comprehensive polling data the next day to assess the impact of Segalovich's move on their voter base and the broader Arab community.

The polls, conducted on an unprecedented scale within the Arab sector, aim to evaluate whether Segalovich's joining would strengthen Ra'am by attracting voters from other parties such as the Democratic Front and Hadash, or if it might alienate existing supporters. Ra'am faces internal concerns about the political timing and implications, with all decisions expected before the party's primaries scheduled for August 22, 2026. These primaries are notable as Ra'am is no longer under the Islamic Movement's Shura Council, raising additional apprehensions.

A senior Ra'am official told N12, "It's happening, but nothing is closed yet. We need to pass this through our institutions properly and ensure the partnership benefits both sides without changing either." Meanwhile, a "Saturday Studio" poll showed mixed public opinion on relying on Segalovich as a decisive vote for forming a government. Among the general public, 44% opposed and 28% supported this reliance, whereas 45% of the Change Bloc voters supported it and 27% opposed.
