MK Yoav Segalovich Resigns from Yesh Atid Amid Party Turmoil

MK Yoav Segalovich announced his resignation from the Knesset and departure from the Yesh Atid party on Thursday. Segalovich, who served as Deputy Minister of Public Security in the change government, made the decision amid a wave of resignations from Yesh Atid following a sharp decline in the party's polling ahead of the upcoming elections. His resignation also comes amid political discussions about a possible joint run with Mansour Abbas's Ra'am party, though no final decision had been made.

Yesh Atid chairman Yair Lapid praised Segalovich's service, stating that he acted with integrity and professionalism in his roles and contributed significantly to combating crime in Israel during the change government. Segalovich expressed gratitude to Lapid, fellow party members, and activists, wishing success to Yesh Atid and the Together party.

Michal Slavni Kabbaya, a former representative of the Zionist Federation for Yesh Atid, is expected to replace Segalovich in the Knesset. His resignation follows other recent departures from the party, including MK Ron Katz, who plans to leave politics to open a law firm in Petah Tikva and collaborate with former MK Moshe Arbel of Shas, who also recently retired from political life.

These resignations reflect internal challenges within Yesh Atid as it struggles to maintain its position as the main opposition party. The party is expected to undergo changes in its faction composition and organizational structure ahead of the elections.
