Senior Yesh Atid MK Yoav Segalovich Resigns, May Join Ra'am Party

Yoav Segalovich, a senior member of the Yesh Atid party and former Deputy Minister of Public Security, submitted his resignation from the Knesset on Sunday to Speaker Amir Ohana. His resignation will take effect within 48 hours as per Israeli law. Segalovich has served as a Knesset member since 2019 and announced his intention to continue public activity through different means to contribute to improving Israel's security and social situation.

Following his departure, Michal Slavni Kabbaya, who was placed 30th on Yesh Atid's list in the 25th Knesset elections and is active in the World Zionist Organization, is expected to replace him. Meanwhile, negotiations are ongoing regarding Segalovich's potential move to the Ra'am party. The discussions have not yet concluded, but if an agreement is reached, it is expected by the end of the month.

A key sticking point in the talks is Segalovich's demand for Ra'am to adopt a clear commitment to Israel as a Jewish and democratic state, including upholding the values of the Declaration of Independence. This ideological condition remains central to the ongoing negotiations.
