MK Yoav Segalovich Resigns from Knesset Ahead of Possible Ra'am Party Move

MK Yoav Segalovich of the Yesh Atid party officially submitted his resignation from the Knesset on Sunday morning, signaling a potential move to join the Ra'am party. Segalovich has served as a Knesset member since 2019 and recently informed Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid of his decision to leave the party. His Knesset seat is expected to be filled by Michal Kava Slavni, who will serve until after the October elections.

Ra'am is currently assessing public sentiment within the Arab community regarding the unprecedented prospect of including a Jewish candidate on their list. Party officials emphasized that no agreement has yet been reached on Segalovich's inclusion, and any decision will be made through an internal Ra'am process. Ra'am chairman Mansour Abbas told ynet that decisions about reserved spots on the party list will be finalized only after the primaries scheduled for August 22.

Abbas also denied reports suggesting Ra'am might change its name to appeal to a broader audience beyond the Arab sector due to the possible addition of a Jewish candidate. He confirmed the party's name will remain "Ra'am" in Hebrew (United Arab List) and "The United List" in Arabic. Segalovich wished Yesh Atid and the Together party success in their continued efforts for Israeli citizens.
