Ofer Kasif Reveals Yoav Segalovich's Demands in Ra'am Negotiations

MK Ofer Kasif discussed ongoing talks between former MK Yoav Segalovich and the Ra'am party, revealing key demands Segalovich has made in the negotiations. Kasif highlighted that Segalovich insists on Ra'am recognizing Israel as a Jewish state, a demand Kasif described as problematic for Ra'am due to its implications regarding Jewish supremacy and obligations for national or civil service. These discussions are part of efforts to integrate Segalovich into Ra'am following his resignation from the Knesset, which he submitted to Speaker Amir Ohana and takes effect 48 hours after submission.

Segalovich served as an MK for Yesh Atid since 2019 and was deputy minister for public security. Upon resigning, he stated his intention to continue public activism aimed at improving Israel's security and social conditions. His Knesset seat is expected to be filled by Michal Slavni Kabbaya, placed 30th on Yesh Atid's list, who is active in the World Zionist Organization and represented it in North America.

Negotiations between Segalovich and Ra'am are ongoing with no final agreement yet, but are expected to conclude by the end of the month. The main sticking points remain the recognition of Israel as a Jewish state and commitments to national or civil service.
