Yoav Segalovich Signs Preliminary Deal to Join Ra'am Party in Second Spot

A preliminary agreement was reached between Mansour Abbas, chairman of the Ra'am party, and former Knesset member Yoav Segalovich, according to a report by Maariv. Under the deal, Segalovich is expected to be placed second on Ra'am's Knesset list. The agreement was reportedly signed yesterday around 7 p.m., despite Abbas's public statement over the weekend that no decision had yet been made. However, this is only a preliminary agreement, subject to finalizing all understandings and additional conditions set by both parties.

One of Segalovich's key demands was securing a position within the top three spots on the party list, with the second place agreed upon. The official announcement and further details are expected after August 22, following Ra'am's primary elections. Additional conditions from Segalovich include promoting a national-civil service framework for young people in the Arab community to encourage civic integration, and Ra'am's explicit recognition of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state, in line with the values of the Declaration of Independence.

If completed, Segalovich would become the first Jewish representative in Ra'am. The negotiations between the two have been ongoing since January 2026 and have now culminated in this preliminary agreement.
