Yoav Segalovich and Mansour Abbas Discuss Joining Ra'am for Upcoming Elections

Knesset members Yoav Segalovich and Mansour Abbas, chairman of the Ra'am party, met recently to discuss the possibility of Segalovich joining Ra'am's list for the upcoming Knesset elections. Their talks were described as positive and constructive, with both agreeing to continue direct negotiations to advance the matter.

The potential alliance has sparked swift condemnation from the Otzma Yehudit party, which accused Abbas and Segalovich of attempting to undermine the Jewish state. Otzma Yehudit claimed Abbas seeks to control the Ministry of National Security through Segalovich, reverse policies such as the closure of terrorist summer camps in prisons, halt demolitions in the Negev, and take over the Negev and Galilee ministries to turn them into Islamic territories. They also criticized former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot and Avigdor Lieberman for allegedly supporting such partnerships.

Segalovich recently described a partnership between Ra'am and his own party, Blue and White, as "the most Zionist move possible," aiming to unite the Arab public seeking to participate in Israel with a Zionist faction. He also suggested that joining forces with Mansour Abbas could provide the crucial votes needed to replace the current government and form a new one.

Acknowledging public hesitation toward political cooperation with Ra'am following the events of October 7, Segalovich emphasized that the primary goal is government change. He believes his involvement could ease concerns among voters and facilitate a political arrangement where Ra'am supports or abstains to enable a new government coalition.
