Ra'am Chairman Mansour Abbas Meets Former MK Yoav Segalovich to Discuss Joint Election Run

Mansour Abbas, chairman of the Ra'am party and current Knesset member, met on Thursday with former Knesset member Yoav Segalovich, who left the Yesh Atid party. The meeting reportedly took place in a positive atmosphere, during which they explored the possibility of Segalovich joining Ra'am's list for the upcoming Knesset elections. Both agreed to continue their direct dialogue on this matter.

Following reports of these talks, the Otzma Yehudit party issued a sharp condemnation, accusing the move of being a "liquidation sale" of the Jewish state under the auspices of the left. Otzma Yehudit claimed that Abbas, through Segalovich, aims to control the Ministry of National Security, reinstate prisoner camps, halt demolitions in the Negev, and take over the Negev and Galilee ministries to turn them into Islamic territories. The party emphasized that Abbas and his allies do not recognize Hamas as a terrorist organization, do not acknowledge Israel as a Jewish state, and are subordinate to the Muslim Brotherhood's Shura Council. Otzma Yehudit warned voters not to be misled by the alliances involving former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot and Avigdor Lieberman.

The discussions between Abbas and Segalovich signal potential shifts in political alliances ahead of the next elections, with Ra'am seeking to broaden its coalition. The continuation of talks suggests further developments in the near future.
