Ra'am Leader Mansour Abbas and MK Yoav Segalovich Explore Potential Election Cooperation

Mansour Abbas, chairman of the Ra'am faction, and Yoav Segalovich, a member of the Knesset from the Together party, are expected to hold talks soon, possibly on Saturday, to explore potential cooperation ahead of upcoming elections. However, no concrete decisions are anticipated at this stage, and no official announcements have been made. Segalovich remains formally a member of the Together party, and the discussions may be preparatory groundwork for a possible coalition collaboration if their hopes to replace the current government materialize.

Segalovich, a former police commissioner, has gained respect within parts of the Arab public and leadership due to his efforts combating crime and violence during the Bennett-Lapid government, when he served as Deputy Minister of Public Security. His direct involvement and continuous engagement with Arab community leaders have been praised, including by Mansour Abbas, who has described Segalovich as an "ideal candidate" for Ra'am's list.

This idea is not new; in early January 2026, Abbas publicly stated on 103fm radio that Ra'am would open its list to Jewish candidates and specifically named Segalovich as an ideal candidate. At the time, Segalovich called the suggestion a compliment but reaffirmed his commitment to his party, then Yesh Atid. Abbas emphasized that Ra'am is currently focused on holding its general conference on August 22, 2026, organizing primary elections for its candidates, and completing the establishment of its governing bodies. Any political alliances or additions to the list will be considered only after thorough political and practical assessments within Ra'am's leadership.

Abbas stressed that these steps depend on replacing the current right-wing government, which he described as racist, and forming an alternative government in which Ra'am participates. He stated that through such a government, they aim to serve the Arab community and address issues including violence, crime, home demolitions, racism, fascism, and achieving equality and justice for all.
