Wizz Air Flight from Rome to Israel Canceled After Passenger Attempts to Leave Before Takeoff

A Wizz Air flight from Rome to Israel was canceled on August 7 after a passenger unexpectedly requested to leave the plane just after boarding was completed. Approximately 300 Israeli passengers were left waiting on the runway as Israeli security forces were called to inspect the aircraft. The captain announced the flight's cancellation following the security check.

Passengers described the incident as tense and chaotic. One passenger, identified only as M., said the man who wanted to disembark did not explain his reasons, communicate in English or Italian, or acknowledge the other passengers. She described his behavior as strange and indifferent to the panic and anger among the mostly Israeli travelers, many of whom were returning from vacation with children.

After about 30 minutes of uncertainty, police arrived and entered the plane, but the passenger remained onboard. The passengers were informed the flight was definitively canceled, and they awaited buses to return them to the terminal to retrieve their luggage. M. emphasized that the cancellation was due to security reasons unrelated to the passengers themselves, expressing the collective desire to get home safely from a plane full of Israelis.
