Wizz Air Extends Memberships and Updates Terms After Flight Suspensions Affect Israeli Subscribers

Israeli subscribers to Wizz Air's "All You Can Fly" membership program, who were unable to use their subscriptions due to flight suspensions between Israel and Wizz Air, will receive a three-month extension free of charge. This compensation follows a court-approved settlement in Tel Aviv between the airline and a representative plaintiff in a class-action lawsuit filed in September 2025. The lawsuit centered on the annual subscription service launched in August 2024, which allowed members to book unlimited flights subject to availability. Plaintiffs argued that Wizz Air did not extend subscription periods or refund unused portions during the months when flights to and from Israel were halted. Wizz Air defended the suspension as a result of security conditions beyond its control and noted that members could use their subscriptions on other routes during the suspension. The relevant flight suspension lasted four months and 11 days, affecting 277 Israeli members included in the settlement. Under the agreement, Wizz Air will automatically extend these members' subscriptions by three months at no cost. Additionally, the airline has revised the membership terms so that if flights to a country are suspended for 30 consecutive days, members can cancel their subscriptions and receive a proportional refund for unused time. The court deemed the settlement beneficial for the class and approved it, awarding the lead plaintiff 2,250 euros and legal fees of 7,750 euros plus VAT to the attorneys. This resolution provides financial relief to affected Israeli subscribers and strengthens protections for future prolonged flight suspensions involving Wizz Air in Israel.
