Wizz Air Resumes Flights Between Romania and Israel
Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air has restarted direct flights between Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and Tel Aviv, Israel, as of September 7, 2026. The flights will operate twice weekly, on Mondays and Fridays, restoring a key connection between the Transylvania region and Israel after a six-month suspension. The resumption of the route was announced by officials from Avram Iancu International Airport Cluj, the Cluj County Council, and Wizz Air representatives.
Alin Tișe, chairman of the Cluj County Council, stated that the return of these flights is crucial for the development of transportation infrastructure, the regional economy, tourism, and investment. David Ciceo, the airport's general director, noted that Tel Aviv is a popular and anticipated destination for local travelers, and its reinstatement further strengthens the airport's international network, which includes approximately 40 Wizz Air routes and over 60 regular destinations globally.
Tickets for the flights are available on the Wizz Air website and app, with prices starting at 59.99 euros. Airport officials advise passengers to verify the latest flight schedules through the airline's official communication channels, as schedules may be adjusted based on the current regional situation.
