Wizz Air Resumes Flights to Tel Aviv from Romania

European low-cost carrier Wizz Air has officially announced the resumption of direct flights between Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and Tel Aviv, Israel. Starting September 7, 2026, passengers will be able to fly twice weekly, on Mondays and Fridays, between Avram Iancu International Airport in Cluj-Napoca and Tel Aviv. This marks the full restoration of a significant air corridor after a roughly six-month hiatus prompted by regional security concerns.

Local officials welcomed the return of the popular airline. Alin Tișe, Chairman of the Cluj County Council, stated that the route's revival will significantly boost the regional economy, business ties, tourism, and investment. David Ciceo, the airport's general director, highlighted Tel Aviv as a historically popular destination for local travelers and noted that Wizz Air's expanded network, which includes this route, now offers around forty destinations from the airline and over sixty regular routes globally.

Wizz Air has commenced ticket sales on its official website and mobile app, with base fares starting at 59.99 euros. Airport representatives advise passengers to verify flight schedules through official Wizz Air channels, as the timetable may be adjusted based on the evolving regional situation. Previously, Wizz Air crews had reportedly refused to fly to Tel Aviv.
