Israel Successfully Tests Advanced Arrow 3 Missile Defense System Against Iranian Threats

Israel's Ministry of Defense announced a successful test launch of the Arrow 3 missile defense system on Wednesday, conducted in collaboration with the U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA), the Israel Defense Forces, and Israel Aerospace Industries. The test took place at a firing range near the Palmachim Airbase as part of a multi-year program to develop and upgrade the system.

The Arrow system serves as the uppermost layer in Israel's multi-tiered air defense network, which also includes the David's Sling, Iron Dome, and Iron Beam systems. It features advanced detection and classification capabilities using powerful Oron Green and Oron Adir radars, command and control systems, and interceptors capable of exo-atmospheric interceptions at great distances and altitudes from Israeli territory.

Defense Minister Israel Katz praised the test as further proof of Israel's defense strength, technological capabilities, and the effectiveness of the Arrow system in intercepting numerous threats from Iran and other fronts during conflicts. Katz emphasized ongoing efforts to continuously upgrade Israel's defense systems and maintain military superiority by investing in both defensive and offensive capabilities.

Defense Ministry Director-General Amir Baram highlighted that the groundbreaking test reflects the ministry's strategic priorities of preserving technological advantage and enhancing Israel's defense autonomy. He noted accelerated production and system upgrades amid ongoing operations against Iranian threats, resulting in an increasing inventory of interceptors with evolving capabilities.

This successful test underscores Israel's commitment to maintaining a robust and technologically advanced missile defense shield to protect its citizens from current and future threats.
