Israel Conducts Pre-Planned Arrow Air Defense System Interception Test

An interception trail was observed in Israeli skies on Wednesday evening, which the Ministry of Defense confirmed was a pre-planned test of the Arrow air defense system. The ministry stated that further details would be provided later. Earlier this year, in February, the Ministry of Defense announced the successful completion of a series of tests for the Iron Sting (Kela David) system, designed to intercept a wide range of threats including rockets, missiles, cruise missiles, drones, and UAVs. These tests incorporated complex scenarios based on operational lessons from recent conflicts, demonstrating significant advancements in the system's operational and technological capabilities. The Iron Sting system is a key component of Israel's multi-layered defense network, alongside the Arrow, Iron Dome, and the recently delivered laser system, Light Spear, to the Air Force. The development of these systems is led by the Ministry of Defense through the Homa Directorate at the Ministry of Defense's Administration for the Development of Weapons and Technological Infrastructure (Maf'at), in cooperation with Israeli defense industries and the American company MDA.
