Former Communications Minister Eitan Ginzburg Joins Ex-PM Naftali Bennett’s 'Together' Party

Naftali Bennett, former Prime Minister and chairman of the 'Together' party, announced on Wednesday that former Communications Minister and Knesset member Eitan Ginzburg is joining his party list. The 'Together' party highlighted Ginzburg’s extensive public service experience, including roles as Communications Minister, Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, Chair of the Knesset Committee, and Mayor of Ra'anana. They also noted his military rank as a reserve lieutenant colonel and his legal background.

Bennett praised Ginzburg as a professional and dedicated public servant with proven execution skills, emphasizing that his addition strengthens their team’s ability to address Israel’s challenges without delay. Ginzburg expressed enthusiasm about joining Bennett’s experienced team, stressing the urgent need for a government that will work from day one to repair damage and implement significant reforms through detailed plans.

Ginzburg left the Blue and White party about three months ago, coinciding with the departure of Hili Tropper. His exit followed reports that Blue and White leader Benny Gantz summoned him over concerns about his political future amid talks with other parties. Blue and White had issued an ultimatum to Ginzburg to clarify his political intentions, underscoring their commitment to a broad Zionist unity government.

Before leaving Blue and White, Ginzburg had been a close ally of Gantz, serving intermittently as a Knesset member, Communications Minister, party secretary-general, and Deputy Chair of the Central Elections Committee. He entered the current Knesset session after Gadi Eizenkot’s resignation.
