Nissan Zehavi Joins Former PM Naftali Bennett’s 'Together' Party to Strengthen Northern Israel
Nissan Zehavi, a prominent activist and co-founder of the "Lobby 1701" organization and the "Home, Returning to the Galilee" movement, has joined the "Together" party led by former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett. Zehavi became a well-known figure during the Iron Swords war, serving over a year in the reserve readiness unit of Kibbutz Kfar Giladi while simultaneously establishing Lobby 1701 to unite northern residents and advocate for enhanced security along the border.
During the conflict, Zehavi was also involved in founding the "Home, Returning to the Galilee" movement, which encourages residents to return to communities evacuated during the war and promotes regional cooperation and development projects. His political and media experience includes serving as a communications and parliamentary advisor to former Knesset members Avi Dichter and Arel Margalit.
In 2025, Zehavi ran for head of the Upper Galilee Regional Council, advancing to the second round but losing to Asaf Lengelvan. He has also worked to promote entrepreneurship and employment in the Galilee, serving as CEO of Margalit Startup Galilee under the JVP fund and later managing impact investments at the fund. In 2024, TheMarker magazine named him among the 100 most influential people in Israel. Zehavi’s move to Bennett’s party highlights his commitment to northern Israel and his desire to leverage his activism and political background in a new phase of public service.
