Singer Odaya Wins Defamation Case as Public Apology Issued

About a year after filing a defamation lawsuit, Israeli singer Odaya announced the legal proceedings against Shulamit Asraf Danino have concluded with a public apology and full retraction of all allegations made against her. Odaya had sued following malicious rumors falsely claiming she had an affair with a married man. In a social media post, Odaya revealed that Danino admitted the published claims were untrue, stating there was not a single piece of evidence supporting the lies. Danino also confirmed she had never met Odaya or the man involved.

Odaya shared the apology letter in which Danino retracted all accusations of an affair, acknowledged the falsity of her statements, and apologized for the distress and harm caused. Danino committed to refraining from making or spreading similar claims in the future. Odaya emphasized that the legal battle was primarily to clear her name, highlighting the serious and sometimes irreversible damage false online accusations can inflict, especially on public figures.

However, Odaya noted that the matter is not fully resolved, as she continues to pursue a defamation lawsuit against Daniel Amram, who allegedly published defamatory statements against her without evidence or basis.
