Israeli Lawyer Arrested for Allegedly Fabricating Evidence in Terror Case in Ramla

Israeli police from the Central District Unit arrested a lawyer and four others on Tuesday on suspicion of coercing minors to provide false testimony in a security-related criminal case at the Central District Court. The lawyer, a resident of central Israel, represents a defendant indicted in January 2026 for serious security offenses including terrorism, shooting, arson, and weapons manufacturing in Ramla. The case originated after a December 2025 confrontation between the defendant's family and police. The indictment alleges the defendant and a relative believed police targeted them due to their Arab identity and planned arson attacks against Jews on Gilad Street in Ramla to instill fear and deter police enforcement.

The indictment further states the suspects set vehicles on fire and fired shots at cars and a residential building, with one bullet penetrating a kitchen. The investigation repeatedly referenced Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, whom the suspects viewed as emblematic of the enforcement policies they opposed. In May, the lawyer approached investigators claiming to hold exonerating evidence for her client, submitting materials that raised suspicions about their origin and timing, prompting a covert investigation. Findings suggest the lawyer and others, including the defendant’s family, pressured several minors and their parents from central Israel to provide false alibis, offering money and using threats such as "I will implicate you" to coerce cooperation.

Following the transition to an open investigation phase, police arrested the lawyer in her 30s and four others from Ramla connected to the defendant’s family. Authorities plan to present all suspects to the Rishon Lezion Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday to request extended detention as the investigation continues.
